MP02: Paul Zeigle

Between now and February 11th we’ll be bringing you a handful of short, behind-the-scenes interviews – A.K.A. Masher Profiles – with some of the peeps helping to make The Surly Masher happen.

This week, while everybody else is trying to look busy between holiday weekends, we caught up with the brand manager for Surly bikes. When we hit him up, Paul Zeigle was playing Santa on a Krampus by delivering thank you gifts to his local dealers. Technically, he was on a Big Dummy but we chose not berate him for missing an obvious pun. Instead, we had him answer a series of questions between stops and take pics along the way. Then we played a game of MASH to see what the new year might hold.

1) What is your name? What is your quest? What is your favorite color

Pintz Guzld. To find the Holy Grail. Blue, no green. Auuuuuuuugh!

2) What is the surliest quality about yourself?

My second toe. The one next to the big toe.

3) What is your favorite Surly bike?

Enduro Camp Rig

4) What is your favorite Surly beer?

5) What is your favorite place to ride in the Twin Cities?

Wirth. I do a two-hour ride off-road from home.

6) Ninja or wizard?

Ninja in my dreams. Wizard in my nightmares.

7) What do you feel like doing tonight?

Hanging around the fire pit in the backyard sipping cold ones.

8) What does 2018 hold for Pintz Guzld?

According to the game of MASH, Pintz Guzld will ride a Surly Straggler with Jackeline Smith around Duluth where he'll stay in a mansion (with Mrs. Zeigle).
